The role of the Consumer Consultant is to facilitate, promote, support and enhance client participation and leadership initiatives within North East & Border Mental Health Services.

The consumer consultant:

  • Works closedly with people in recovery and the clinical team to provide support, referrals and consultation  
  • Encourages people in recovery to become more involved in their own self management and treatment, and to further encourage individuals to be more aware of their options
  • Offer suggestions and guidance to the clinical team regarding how the service may be experienced from a clients perspective
